Music and Band

All students from K-6 participate in weekly music lessons providing exposure to a wide variety of music genres. In addition our school band program and choir is offered to students from Grade 3 – 6.

Our band program focuses on learning in a supportive environment, playing and performing together for enjoyment and sharing musical knowledge and skills among all ages. The program provides opportunities for children to excel in the area of music not often offered to primary aged students. A variety of instruments are taught including guitar, ukulele, drums, clarinet and trumpet. These are taught in small focus groups and as students’ progress they are able to participate  in rock bands, ensembles and the school concert band.

Performance opportunities include assemblies, our annual Rising Stars concert, ANZAC services and other school community events. As well as instrumental programs, students in Grade 3-6 can also participate in choir and vocal groups. These accompany our bands and musicians at school assemblies and school and community events.
